Departure

Port of Sainte-Rose

This peaceful port is where the adventure begins. Come aboard and head out to the Guadeloupe lagoon, one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. Please arrive 20 minutes before departure for the safety briefing with your captain.

Stop 1

The Mangroves and coastal rivers

A slow, quiet cruise through the heart of the mangroves, a true nursery for marine life. The boat sometimes comes close to the mouth of the Rivière à Viard, where you can spot birds, young fish, and roots reaching down into the dark, still water.

Stop 2

The Coral Reef

A stop out at sea to explore the lagoon with mask and snorkel right by the coral. Brightly coloured tropical fish, sea fans, and sponges live side by side in crystal-clear water, offering a truly rich underwater show.

Stop 3

The Sandy Wreck

A not-to-be-missed stop around an old barge that sank in shallow water and has, over the years, become a true artificial reef. The hull, now covered in coral and home to abundant sea life, draws both experienced divers and curious snorkelers alike.

Stop 4

Îlet Caret

This white sandbank sitting in the middle of the lagoon, surrounded by clear turquoise water, is probably one of the most photographed sights in Guadeloupe. A perfect stop for swimming, drifting in the warm waves, and enjoying a postcard-worthy view.

Stop 5

Îlet Blanc

Wilder and better preserved, this fine-sand islet can only be visited under certain conditions to protect its natural surroundings. Its calm, quiet waters make it a peaceful haven, far from the bustle of the coast.

Stop 6

Îlet La Biche

A small, tucked-away patch of land in the middle of the lagoon, home to an old fisherman’s hut that feels like the end of the world. This is traditionally where drinks are enjoyed with your feet in the water, before heading back to port.

Good to know before you go

A half-day is not enough time to visit every stop. On the day of departure, your captain will help you choose 4 to 5 stops together from those on offer, based on your preferences and the sailing conditions on the day.

A half-day in paradise

Treat yourself to a 3 to 3.5-hour escape in the heart of the Grand Cul-de-Sac Marin, one of Guadeloupe’s most beautiful nature reserves. Departing from Sainte-Rose port, the captain guides you through a turquoise lagoon, classified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

The boat: L’Artiste

L’Artiste is a Commercial Utility Vessel (NUC) measuring 7.50 m, certified for passenger transport. With a maximum capacity of 11 passengers plus the captain, it offers a comfortable space to fully enjoy the trip. Outings are kept to small groups to ensure a personalized experience.
